Simple changes relieve dry skin
It is not advisable to follow the same skin care routine
throughout the year if the moisture is low. Without changes in your skin care
regimen, dry air makes fine lines and wrinkles more noticeable. Dry, itchy skin
may flake, crack and bleed.
To cure dry skin and prevent recurrence, dermatologists recommend the following.
1. Stop bathing and showering from dry skin.
When moisture is low or your skin feels dry, make sure to:
- Close the bathroom door.
- Use hot water instead of hot water.
- Limit sometime within the shower or bath to five or 10 minutes.
- Wash with a gentle, odorless cleanser.
- Apply enough cleanser to remove dirt and oil, avoiding use until you see thick foam.
- Gently dry your skin with a towel.
- Apply moisturizer as soon as your skin is dry.
2. Apply moisturizer immediately after washing
Ointments, creams and lotions (moisturizers) work by trapping the moisture in your skin. To capture this much needed moisture, you should apply a moisturizer in a few minutes:
- Drying after bath or shower
- Wash your face or hands
3. Use ointments or creams instead of lotions
Ointments and
creams are easy and fewer irritating than lotions. Search for a cream or
ointment that contains one or more of the subsequent ingredients:
- Jojoba Oil
- Dimethicone
- Glycerin
- Hyaluronic acid
- Milk
- Lanolin
- Mineral oil
- Vaseline
- Shea butter
4. Apply lip alm balm
Choose a lip alm lotion that looks good
on your lips. If your lips are tingling or tingling after applying lip alm
balm, switch to those that do not cause this reaction.
5. Use only gentle, odorless skin care products
Some skin care products, such as deodorant soaps, are very harsh on dry, sensitive skin. Dermatologists recommend using products that are labeled "unscented."
If you see the word "odorless", the product may contain chemicals that neutralize or hide the odor of other substances. These chemicals can irritate dry, sensitive skin.
6. Wear gloves
The first place we notice dry hands is our hands. You can lighten dry, raw skin by wearing your front gloves:
- Go out in the winter.
- Do the necessary things to keep your hands wet?
- Get chemicals, lubricant and other substances on your hands.
7. Choose non-irritating clothes and laundry detergent
Clothes
and laundry detergent can cause irritation even when our skin is dry and green.
To prevent this:
- Wear cotton or silk under clothing made of wool or other materials that look tough.
- Use laundry detergent labeled "hypoallergenic".
8. Keep warm without sticking to the stove or other heat sources
Sitting ahead of an open flame or other heat source can dry out your
skin.
